vagabond shoots a ghost town

Ayres first gas station

I seem to find the strangest places to photograph, but this daunting little ghost town was talking to me.  My brother and I were out in search of family history.  We drove to this little town of Luray Missouri (that still has a post office) and found our grandmothers old house where she grew up, our great grandfathers first location of his car company “Harris Motor Company”, Ayres Oil Company’s first gas station, and a lonely main street that is now only a memory to a remaining few.

The pictures may not mean much now, yet I cant help but wonder what stories could be told of these old buildings that once were thriving with life and activity.  I wish my grandma was here to tell me about them.
